Continuing the focus on high-quality development, the GFA Aztech Academy welcomed West Bromwich Albion youth coach Kieran Squire earlier in the summer for a series of specialist training sessions with the Academy’s U13 and U14 squads.
With a strong background in academy-level coaching within the English football system, Kieran delivered high-intensity technical sessions designed to stretch the players tactically and physically — mirroring the standards and expectations of professional environments.
Players were introduced to new drills, coaching language, and performance demands, helping them connect their training habits with the requirements of elite football progression.
The visit also provided a valuable coach workshop and learning opportunity for Academy staff, who were able to exchange ideas with Kieran and take insight from the practices of a professional environment — further enriching the Academy’s player development model.
The sessions marked another step in the Academy’s commitment to bridging the gap between local potential and off island pathways, giving players a taste of what lies ahead should they continue to pursue their football ambitions at the highest level.
