The final trip of the 2025/26 Mourant Girls Academy season saw the U9/10s and U13/14s travel to Jersey for the annual Jersey Wanderers Girls Football Festival on Saturday 25th April. Excitement was high at the airport, particularly for the younger group, who were travelling for fixtures and experiencing matches against all-girls teams for the first time. The older group, having attended in 2023 and 2024, returned with great memories and were eager to compete again.

The U9/10s were dominant throughout the group stage, scoring 15 goals without conceding. Every player received equal game time, showing impressive determination in winning the ball and a clinical edge in front of goal. After finishing top of their group, Guernsey secured a 5-0 victory over Rozel Rovers in the semi-final. The final against Jersey Scottish proved to be a very different challenge from their earlier matches. It was tightly contested and played at a high tempo, with chances at both ends, eventually finishing 0-0. The match was decided by penalties, where Guernsey narrowly missed out, finishing as runners-up. Despite the result, the girls and coaches have taken great pride in what was an outstanding and successful day.

The U13/14s delivered a series of consistently strong defensive performances during the group stage,

finishing the group with four draws and a 5-0 win while conceding just once. This earned them second place in their group and a semi-final against a strong French side. Although the match ended in a 2-0 defeat, Guernsey spent much of the game on the front foot, applying consistent pressure and pinning the opponents back into their half. In the third-place playoff, Guernsey ended on a high note with a 1-0 win over St Lawrence, securing an overall third-place finish against a group of high quality teams.
