On Saturday 21 March 2026, we welcomed Jersey Bulls to Victoria Park for fixtures against our Under 13/14 and Under 11/12 Girls Academy squads.

The Under 13/14s kicked things off in a closely contested match played over three 25-minute thirds. Jersey Bulls took an early lead after breaking through the back line

and finishing well, but Guernsey responded immediately from the restart, gaining territory and creating several chances. Much of the game saw goalkeepers opting for long balls, allowing attackers to run in behind, though both defences dealt with this effectively. Midway through the second third, Jersey capitalised on a ball in the air to double their lead. Guernsey raised their intensity again and came close twice - once from a through ball and once from a corner. Jersey applied pressure before the break, striking the woodwork three times in quick succession. In the final third, Guernsey showed real determination, creating promising opportunities down the left wing. Their efforts were rewarded when they pulled a goal back with a composed finish into the bottom corner. Despite pushing for an equaliser, time ran out, and Jersey secured a 2–1 victory.

The Under 11/12s followed with another strong performance in what proved to be an excellent contest. Guernsey began with composure, maintaining possession and ensuring all players were involved as they settled into the game. They went on to dominate large spells, posing a consistent attacking threat both out wide and through the middle. Confident on the ball, they mixed play well with passes into feet and effective longer deliveries, while remaining solid in defence and confidently progressing forward with the ball while in possession. The best chance of the first half came just before the break, when a volley from a clearance struck the crossbar. With around 15 minutes of the game remaining, Guernsey deservedly took the lead after reacting quickest to a cross into the box. They soon doubled their advantage from a corner before making it 3-0 to cap off the performance, finishing neatly from another cross.

Mourant Girls Academy Manager Scarlett Kenneally reflected on a successful day, saying: “I’m very proud of how the girls showcased their talent across both games. Both teams demonstrated great desire, work rate, resilience, and attitude, which reflects how hard they’ve trained in the lead up to these fixtures. We’re thankful to Jersey Bulls for making the journey to Guernsey and are looking forward to facing them again next season.”
