Guernsey, July 2025 — The GFA Aztech Academy teams enjoyed a strong run of inter-island fixtures this spring, with players across the age groups embracing competitive challenges and showcasing their development on the pitch.

The U12 and U13 squads took on the Jersey Bulls Academy, gaining vital experience in high-quality contests that tested both tactical awareness and physical resilience. The U12s narrowly lost out by a single goal, while the U13s delivered a fantastic performance in a well-earned 2-0 win.
Muratti pride was also on full display. The U11 Schoolboys edged Jersey Schools 4-3 in a thrilling battle at Victoria Park — the first schoolboy Muratti ever hosted there. Two early
goals settled Guernsey nerves before Jersey pulled one back just before halftime. A third goal re-established the cushion, and a dramatic flurry in the closing minutes saw the score shift rapidly: from 3-1, to 3-2, to 4-2, and finally 4-3. But the final whistle sealed a memorable victory for the Year 6 side.
Earlier in the day, the U13s produced another confident 2-0 win in the inaugural (albeit unofficial) U13 Muratti — a composed display that further highlighted the strength of Guernsey’s youth development pathway.

Adding to a packed fixture list, the Academy welcomed Jersey Scottish, who brought a U12 side to play both Sylvans U12s and the Aztech U11s, alongside a U11 team who faced the Aztech U10s and St Martin’s U11s. These friendly matches offered a valuable cross-island test, encouraging players to adapt to different styles and continue building match intelligence through varied competition.
The spring calendar has underlined the Academy’s commitment to purposeful, challenging fixtures — using competitive opportunities to fuel growth, confidence, and development across all levels.
